Most music of the Western world uses chromatic scales. Jazz music uses chromatic notes as something characteristic of the style. Chromaticism is very common in the improvisations of jazz masters. The scales are sometimes called Bebop scales.

The Major Bebop Scale adds a chromaticism between the fifth and sixth notes of a Major Scale.

Play the Major Mop Scale in the Circle of fifths

Play D major bop scale up and down starting from the root, 3rd, 5th, 6th. Make random combinations.
